What You Will Do?
· Identify the tuning needs of controllers in units and report them to your team
· Review unit alarms within the framework of the Tüpraş Alarm standard and identify needs
· By mastering unit processes, monitor performance around basic level (baselayer) and advanced process control (APC)
· Execute simple DCS graphic drawings
· Support ongoing comprehensive basic level and advanced process control projects/activities
· Know data-driven decision-making tools (THD/PHD/R Studio, etc.) and incorporate them into processes
· Design and create simple Function Blocks (PVI, MLD, etc.) and trend pages
· Provide training to increase the knowledge and awareness levels of employees regarding process control activities within the refinery
· Support digitalization/data analytics efforts and the implementation of refinery applications
· Continuously follow technological/sectoral innovations related to your field, as well as changes in legislation and standard related to your responsibilities, and develop proposals to adapt these to activities
· Support the fulfillment of the requirements of current legislation and in-house regulations, standards, and instructions related to their area of responsibility.
What We Look For?
- • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Control Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field • Basic understanding of process control principles (PID control, feedback/feedforward control) • Familiarity with DCS/PLC systems and control loop tuning (even if only academic) • Knowledge of data analysis tools (Excel, Python, or MATLAB) • Awareness of refinery unit operations and process flow diagrams (PFDs) • Capstone or thesis work involving simulation, modeling, or control systems • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities • Familiarity with APC concepts like model predictive control (MPC) or real-time optimization (RTO) • Exposure to process safety and industrial standards (e.g., ISA, IEC) • Interest in digital transformation and Industry 4.0 technologies • Process modeling and simulation (Aspen HYSYS, Honeywell UniSim, MATLAB/Simulink) • Control system platforms (e.g., Honeywell Experion, Emerson DeltaV, Yokogawa CENTUM, ABB 800xA) • PID tuning and loop performance optimization • Data analytics and machine learning for process improvement • Process historian tools (e.g., PI System, Honeywell PHD) • Integration with DCS/PLC/SCADA systems • Deep understanding of refining unit operations (e.g., CDU, VDU, FCC, hydrocracking, reforming) • Familiarity with process constraints, energy efficiency, and product quality control • Experience with alarm management and process safety systems • Root cause analysis and troubleshooting of control issues • Performance monitoring and KPI tracking • Project lifecycle management from feasibility to commissioning • Cost-benefit analysis for APC projects • Strong communication and collaboration with operations, maintenance, and IT teams • Ability to train and mentor plant personnel on APC tools and strategies • Adaptability to evolving technologies and refinery needs • Certifications in APC platforms or control systems (optional but valuable
